The complete redevelopment of this Victorian end of terrace house in West London was a big project as, apart from the front facade, everything got new built and involved a radical series of side, rear and roof level extensions spanning over 3 floors.

The existing garden plot is divided into two parts and got redesignes as one main garden to the rear with seating and barbeque area and a childrens playground to the side of the building and garage.

The kitchen is the biggest room of the house and the central living area of the family. Therefore 5-6m long roof lights were installed to the side and rear.

Full-height sliding doors with very thin profiles, to give a frameless look, got installed and divide the kitchen and dining area form the rear garden only thermally. The sliding doors open to one corner completely, which gives the huge kitchen an even more open and greater appeareance.

The upper floors house bedrooms for the 4 children, children bathroom, master bedroom with ensuite and a nannys room with a seperate bathroom.

The interior design was made closely with the client in a very modern way and contemporary matererials chosen together with an interior designer.

Maintaining a centralised route through the ground floor to the garden was important, as was the modern layering of natural textures and the use of neutral tones and cool greys.
