This Wilhelminian style house on the very famous Poppelsdorfer Allee connecting the Poppelsdorfer Castle to the city center of Bonn got built in 1892 and, as part of a very historical housing area in Bonn, is under protection.

Apart from the main structure, which is still in a good shape, the house got completely refurbished and some rear extensions to accommodate three separate, high end apartments over six floors with nowadays standards of living.

Over the years, mainly in the 50s, the house got changed several times by extending a roof terrace at the back, using the attic as living area and adding a dormer window, as well as adding different fit out materials on top of the old ones.

In agreement with the protection government all the added, but not original parts got removed to uncover the historical, old materials. Most of them could be kept and restored such as pitch pine flooring boards, terrazzo flooring, stucco at the ceiling and even historical wall paintings.

The typical rear split levels could be well connected through a black, modern steel staircase to the ground floor. The ground floor with the additional two split levels and an ensuite bedroom in the basement builds one apartment.

This apartment is the biggest one and contains the two big living rooms on ground floor with the typical high ceilings, a terrace to the front facade and the only access to the rear garden through the kitchen in one of the split levels.

The first floor hosts the second apartment with a new roof terrace, four rooms, containing one bedroom with a built-in bathroom box to climb up and a balcony to the front facade.

The second and third level build the third apartment with a big roof terraces, a small balcony to the front with the best view over the avenue and a new, big dormer window overlooking the rear gardens and neighbors.

All new added elements are plain and modern to differentiate form the old, historical elements.
