This was a competition from Thyssen Krupp Elevators to develop a multifunctional new headquarter in Neuhausen near Stuttgart.

The idea was to merge all functions into one, floating but representative building, divided into three parts above ground level, each raised at one end and have the shape of the boomerangs as ThyssenKrupp logo.

These three upper buildings all address another direction and touch and run sometimes into each other. Therefore the building looks always different. The roof of the ground floor from which the three offices raise will be a green roof, where people can walk, sit or can take their lunch breaks. The envelope is completely transparent which gives a modern lightness to the building and creates an exchange between inside and outside. Slats are running around to give shade to the interior offices and it creates the dynamic look the innovative and technological company stands for.

The ground level and basement are concepted as a solid base from where the three boomerangs raise. The rectangular base defines the site context. There is Bernhäuser Strasse to one site and to the rear the already existing production hall.

At ground floor one enters a huge and impressive foyer with registration. From here three panorama glass elevators are going up into the three different office blocks above. As the atrium and offices are all glass, the light and brightness is immense.

The 'Gallery of Movement' can be reached by passing by the meeting rooms. From there you can watch the process of production and fabrication behind glass - everything is open and visible and gives visitors or clients and impression how ThyssenKrupp is working.

The basement houses an exhibition about the history and the new innovations of the company. Through the glass facade to the rear you can see the production hall and can enter the campus area between the two buildings. This newly created outdoor area will serve as communication area and meeting area as from the usual worker to clients or high level bosses - everyone walks through this area, can meet and interact.

At ground floor there will be a SEED campus, which houses workshops, training and meeting rooms, offices and changing rooms. In the campus integrated there are 4 test towers for elevators.
